The Music Made Easy Method

MME Student Support MaterialLearning music is a lot like travelling, you can decide to just ‘scratch the surface’ of the place you are visiting or you can decide to really spend some time absorbing everything it has to offer.

You only need to follow the ‘tourist trail’ for the former and there are already many resources available which can help you there.

This Method is intended for the purpose of the latter, for those of you wishing to get to know Music intimately.

So, if you decided you would like to travel to a new country and truly taste the wonders of all it had to offer, would you just hop into the nearest car or airplane and go?

Or would you feel more inclined to succeed in staying and enjoying your trip if you took some time to prepare?

And if you were to prepare, what would you need?

The Music Made Easy Method is based on my list of items needed for travel.
Here is how I have adapted it for the learning of singing or playing an instrument:

•  Transport = How to Practise.
With effective practise you can get to where you want to go.

•  A Map = The Practise Diary
To see where you have been and where you are headed.

•  Navigation = Reflective Learning
This tool can help you to plan the best way to progress.

•  Inside Knowledge = The Inner Critic vs the Inner Musician
This will show you how you can begin to create great music.

•  Fuel = Motivation
Guidance on how to keep your motivation levels up in order to keep learning.

•  Supplies = Performing and Recording
Aspects necessary to keep yourself happy and comfortable in music.

The Music Made Easy Method makes no false promises.

It works if you work, and is successful because it shows you:
•  how to practise efficiently & effectively;
•  what to expect from learning; and
•  how to problem solve, reflect & understand the processes of learning to play music.

All of this is done in a supportive, fun and friendly environment catering to individual needs.
